On your visit to Pembroke Castle you can enjoy the exhibition rooms which portray life as it would have been through the many interesting twists and turns in the Castle's history.

Introductory Video

Start your visit with our Introductory Video, the first point of call as you step through the gates of the castle.  The video will give you a brief summary of the castle's history and its use today.

 

Main Exhibition Rooms

Castle Model, Main Exhibition Room

Our Main Exhibition Rooms are house in our Gatehouse, and combine sculpted figures, setwork, mural paintings, graphic panels, lights, and a triggered audio sequence to recreate the most important scenes in the Castle's history.

See replica models of Pembroke Castle throughout the different centuries demonstrating how the Castle was constructed and developed into what we see today.

Learn the story of the many Earls of Pembroke and their importance to British and Welsh history.

 

Experience a dramatic exhibition depicting a bloody battle during the Civil War between Crowell's troops and John Poyer's Pembroke Royalists, and the moment the John Poyer discovered his fate following the defeat of his army in 1649.  Transport yourself back to a medieval banquet held at the household of William de Valence at Pembroke Castle.

The William Marshal Tapestry

Creates over many years by a committed group of volunteers.  This magnificent work of art is on permanent loan to us and is displayed in our main exhibition room.  It depicts the life oif the Greatest Knight, William Marshal, Earl of Pembroke.
