Living History - The Household Anglo Norman Re-enactment

Step back in time to the late eleventh century with The Household Anglo-Norman Living History Society. The year is 1098, and Arnulf de Montgomery's mighty earth and timber fortress, Pembroke Castle, is now complete. Arnulf has invited craftspeople to Pembroke to embelish the castle and display his high status. He has also recently founded the Benedictine priory at Monkton, to ensure that he is demonstrating his piety. But all is not well, danger lurks just outside the walls. The castle has already been attacked twice and tensions are high.

Castle Visitors will be treated to demonstrations of weaponry, armour, crafts and cookery from the earliest days of the Norman's settling in Pembroke.

These displays are included in the entry price for all visitors and are on a rolling programme throughout the day.
