This event is free with castle admission and does not need to booked in advance.

Experience and learn about life in the past!  Join us on one of our Living History weekends to see authentic dress, and informative demonstrations of food and crafts of the age, and staged battles.  Please see below for our Living History schedule.

 

Sat 13- Sun 14 April

The Sealed Knot

Learn about the life of a 17th Century soldier during the English Civil War.  Throughout the day there will be demonstrations of arms, weaponry and marching.  They also love to talk to visitors from the 21st Century so please ask them lots of questions!

 

Sat 20 - Sun 21 April 

World War II Weekend

Experience what life would have been like for soldiers during World War II.  See displays from the Wiltshire Home Guard, a British Field Surgeon and Vehicle Checkpoint; as well as German troops from the 94th Infanterie Division.  Join the American troops from re-enactment group Falcon History, and try your hand at our World War II Assault Course for ages 5 and up? There will be a climbing gate, 'barb wire' crawl, balance beams, 'grenade throw', mine marking and bayonet range.

A living history group portraying a Military Company on campaign in the age of Edward III in the late 14th century (c 1370). The Company is well known for its display of daily life, recreating the culture and technology of English society in the second half of the 14th century and portrays not only the military aspects of society at the time, but also the social and practical aspects of their lives.  They also love to talk to visitors from the 21st Century so please ask them lots of questions!

Morlais Re-enactment
