This summer, magic, mayhem and medieval mystery are taking over Pembroke Castle with the arrival of the brand-new live family event, Discover the Dragon.
Set against the dramatic backdrop of one of Wales’ most iconic castles, this immersive outdoor theatre experience promises laughter, legends and larger-than-life surprises for visitors of all ages. Whether you’re a local family looking for a memorable school holiday day out or a tourist exploring Pembrokeshire’s rich history, this is one event you won’t want to miss.
A Dragon-Sized Adventure
The show is brought to life by the Merrymakers Theatre Company and follows Sir William Marshal and his “wise and witchy” wife Isabel on a quest through the castle grounds in search of Pembroke’s legendary dragon. Along the way, audiences will encounter colourful historical characters, magical storytelling and plenty of medieval mischief.
And this isn’t your average children’s show.
Visitors can expect:

- A trebuchet demonstration

- Interactive storytelling throughout the castle grounds
The 50-minute performances take place at 11am, 1pm and 3pm on selected event dates.
