Wogan Cavern: 40,000 Years Beneath the Castle

The amazing Wogan Cavern beneath Pembroke Castle is one of Britain’s most remarkable archaeological sites, offering a rare window into people’s lives here for more than 40,000 years. Since 2021, excavations have unearthed extraordinary evidence stretching back to the last Ice Age… and beyond!

Join us for an exclusive talk and personally guided tour of the cavern by the eminent Dr Rob Dinnis, who will reveal exciting developments from the excavations- including the latest news on Ice Age humans at the site- Homo sapiens and, it now appears, the enigmatic Neanderthals.

You’ll hear what the team has planned for the next phase of excavations as well as what’s been discovered so far- mammoths, woolly rhinos, hippos and more, and have the opportunity to see some of these fantastic finds up close!
