Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Day 1

Join us for a four day celebration of Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.

To mark the occasion of Britain's longest reigning Monarch our viistors will be able to enjoy the Castle while watching all of the Jubilee celebrations live on a large outdoor screen.

On Thursday 2nd June the screen will broadcast the Queen's Birthday Parade and Trooping the Colour which will be taking place in London.

There will also be fairground stalls, and entertainment from The Merrymakers, and a Jubilee children's trail.  The Castle Kitchen will be serving the Jubilee Tart, Platinum Pudding and an afternoon tea.

Children who arrive wearing royal style fancy dress will have free entry.  For everybody else the castle's normal entry fees will apply between 09:30 and 8:00pm, and passholders will be able to enter using their annual passes.

There is no need to book in advance, just arrive and pay (by card) on the day.

From 8:00pm the castle will be free to enter for anybody who wishes to watch the lighting of the Jubilee Beacon (approx 9:45pm) and the Castle Kitchen will be serving snacks and refreshments into the evening.

Picnics are welcomed and visitors can also bring in folding seats and blankets to sit on.
