Event Information - Rock the Castle 2019

Rock the Castle 2017

Before you arrive

Dress for the weather. This will be an outdoor event and it is likely that the temperature will drop considerably during the evening.  Watch the forecast and dress appropriately.  You will not be allowed to have umbrellas up during the performances as it will block people's view.

Take note of our entry procedures and prohibited items.  Both Friday and Saturday are standing only concerts.

Security Advice & Entry Procedure

This is a standing only event.  Do not bring in any furniture.  This includes chairs, tables, gazebos, tents, and BBQs.  This is a condition of our licence for this kind of event.  The reason for this is to ensure that we are able to evacuate the venue in 10 minutes in the event of an emergency.  You are welcome to bring in a blanket to sit on.

Only small bags allowed. Due to new security measures we had to adopt last year we are now only allowing small bags.  So bags larger than 35cm x 40cm x 19cm will not be permitted.  Also please be aware that all bags will be searched by our security team and that if you are carrying a bag it will inevitably slow you down on entry.

Prepare to be searched on entry. Again, due to the new measures we have now put in place to improve safety, please be aware that everybody entering the venue will be body searched by a member of our security team.

Prohibited Items

Prohibited Items

We are expecting a lot of our concertgoers to arrive on foot, or to be dropped off at the Castle.  There are 380 parking spaces in Pembroke in total including the South Quay Car Park and the Commons Car Park, which are very close by.
To see where the car parks are and how many spaces they have, please click here.

Please be aware at the end of the night the main road outside the castle will become very busy with people exiting the concert.  If you are arranging to be picked up after the event it is advisable that you arrange a collection point that is away from the castle itself.

Park & Ride

We will also be operating a free "Park and Ride" service from Bush Comprehensive School on Pembroke Road directly to the Castle entrance.
Please click here for directions to the Park & Ride facility. Please note that the Park & Ride buses are not wheelchair accessible, but have room for folded wheelchairs.

This will operate on a 15-20 minute loop between the following times:
Friday & Saturday
Arrival: 17:00 - 19:00
Return: 21:00 - 23:00

Park & Walk

There will be a 'Park and Walk' facility made available at Golden Grove Primary School which is a 10-15 minute walk from the castle gates.
Cars must not be left overnight, and vehicles and their contents are left at the owner's risk.
Please click here for directions to the Park & Walk facility.

This will be available at the following times:
Friday & Saturday
17:00 - 23:00 (gates locked)

Behave or Be Banned Membership

For this event we are operating within the Behave or Be Banned Scheme.  This applies to a few individuals who have been banned from Licensed Premises in the area.  Anybody on this list is advised not to attend.  Our door staff will be stopping anybody who is on the list from entering the premises.

On Leaving the Venue

Please be aware that on exiting the venue, pedestrian traffic will be controlled with Stop and Go signs. This is to ensure that there is no risk from crowd congestion as you leave. We appreciate your patience.
